Nope. Watch the video again. Behind him, over his right shoulder where the jumbotron is, you see the sign language interpreter on the screen and below that you can see the words of what he is *supposed* to be saying scrolling. It clearly says South Carolina. The speech was prepared in advance and all he had to do was read it. He couldn't manage to even do that much right.

Earlier in the ceremony he made a comment mocking the Pastor who gave the commencement speech as well. Somehow that detail got lost in the uproar over the name f**k up. We had students actually get up and leave their own commencement exercise out of disgust. Approximately 70 of them.

We never wanted him to begin with. Henry McMaster took it upon himself to appoint him using his status as governor. We almost lost our accreditation bc of it. The by-laws governing how the University selects its President were not followed and the power to make the decision was usurped by McMaster, which put the University in jeopardy of accreditation being stripped. Until someone on our BOTs grows a brass set and is willing to commit seppuku by being the one willing to say "we won't take this anymore", politics will continue to destroy The University of South Carolina.

Laugh it up all you want to. Honestly I wouldn't find this humorous even if the roles were reversed. I feel horrible for the ppl that were there to celebrate a huge milestone and accomplishment in their lives and bc of one ignorant POS, that occasion is always going to have a dark cloud around it. His behavior was also disrespectful to all who came before this class that are alumni. Last I checked my degree says The University of South Carolina on it. So does my ring. And to openly mock a pastor... I'm not even getting started on that one. This is obviously y'alls board and my little rant here is misplaced. I know that. It's just horribly embarrassing.
