Don't look now but the loser of Clemson/FSU will have...

some competition for the ACC Championship slot.

This year Louisville doesn't play the top 3 teams from the ACC last year - Clemson, FSU, or UNC (They miss out on an 8-5 Wake team too).

With the way the schedules are done it will be that way every year for some teams. Dumb idea.

So it was better when 3 of the top 4 teams in the league could not possibly make the championship game?

It's better than the old system

You could still get bad schedule imbalances with the division system based on who teach team drew from the other side, in addition to the other inherent problems of divisions.

Aside from "permanent rivalries" it will be like that way...

for varying teams every year.

While it sucks on the surface, it is better than have a possible 3/4/5 loss team make a conference championship game as we saw some with Divisions.

2018. One of the best teams in the history of college football…

and our opponent (Pitt) in the conference championship was 7-5 at the time. (finished 7-7)
Ridiculous.

Although…under the current model, I think our opponent that year would’ve been Syracuse- which wasn’t much better.

probably still gives the loser a better shot at making champ

game than the divisional set up.

The ACC should implement a playoff system
