Does one size fit all?

Before some of you reflexively ignore this based on this Johns Hopkins Medical Center physician being a FOX news contributor, this seems to represent a more rational approach to COVID, regardless of one's stance on the legality of Biden's vaccine mandate.

Thank you. Didn’t I read somewhere that you are a physician? I’ve been screaming for months that natural immunity is being ignored and I absolutely can not figure out why. It’s the reason I have refused the vaccine and will continue to refuse regardless of any mandates. Ignoring natural immunity is causing mistrust in government and especially the medical community.

This is another well reasoned article from the same doctor although he is not a virologist or immunologist. Yes, I have an MD degree although all of this is way outside my lane.

COVID is a very fluid thing. Scientists are learning on the fly and I think the medical community should cast a skeptical eye about anything the government is pushing without definite data to support the benefit over the risks. Certainly in other diseases herd immunity is not limited solely to the vaccinated. I doubt COVID is any different?

There remain more questions than answers, but for anyone who has neither had COVID nor been vaccinated, I think the data is very solid to support the vaccination. It now appears that one might get more of an immunogenic response to actually lengthen the interval between the first and second injections.

We need more admission that the scientists don't know all the answers rather than a certitude that at a minimum borders on arrogance.

Thanks for the article and the rational thoughts. The article said we should be talking about the immune and the non immune rather than the vaccinated vs the unvaccinated. Exactly!!! My struggle through this whole thing is trying to figure out why many in the medical community keep denying natural immunity. Forget medical school, they should have learned this in high school biology. When leaders start talking immune vs nonimmune I believe trust will begin to improve and more nonimmune will consider the shot.
