Let’s say he continues on this stretch. Does he stay next year?
Feel like there are a lot of QBs coming out.

I don’t think he goes to the NFL but we will need to step up our NIL as his value on the open market, assuming he continues at the current pace, is likely $2M or more

Does he declare for the draft? I can’t see that happening. It is too deep a class and I don’t see him getting a 1st/2nd round grade this year.
Does he enter the portal and leave for some other school? Who the heck knows any more. College football is a crazy crazy world right now and nothing would surprise me.

I've been one of CKs biggest defenders on here.....but he still has a bit to go b/f he is even near ready for the pro game. Footwork, anticipation, reading D's etc...
He needs much more reps. He can get paid just as much at CLEM w/o the stress of the pros. I dont care if we win out and win the NC (very low chance of that). Again, I've been one of his biggest supporters---but he's no where ready.

Klubnik = Our Bo Nix
Oct 1, 2024, 1:27 PM
|
|
Seems like CK is on the Bo Nix progression route.
They've had some eery similarities: - Both made some big-time plays as FR but struggled with consistency their first 2 years. - 3rd year seems to be the blooming phase and honestly CK may be ahead of Bo's curve in that regard...I mean, Bo utilized his COVID RS to play two years at Oregon where he really shined.
Personally, I think Cade is back for one more ride unless he channels a Joe Burrow-like rest of the season that forces him into the conversation for #1 overall. It worked out pretty well for Bo Nix to come back...I think he was considered a Day 2 pick as a RS JR and his last year cemented him for a 1st day grade.

I love these posts on Tigernet, up until a month ago 80% of this board blamed Cade for all the issues and said the kid wasn't even a D1 QB, heck some even said they'd rather have DJ. I'm glad this story is turning out well for Cade and it's proof how fairweather and fickle some fans are.

Truth l. I’ve been a Cade guy all along. I’m not sure how many couldn’t see the potential. Every game, you could see flashes. Now, it’s coming together for him. An improved OL and much improved WR room makes a huge difference

Its not really fair to attack anyone that questioned whether or not Cade was going to be a great QB1 at Clemson after the UGA game. Other than his freshman play in the ACC championship game and brief flashes last year, there was little reason to be overly optimistic after week 1.

SO far he's 4th in QBR. Ahead of Milroe, Beck, Nico Iamalahjahavela... He's tied for 11th in TDs.
He's honestly on pace to have one of the best Clemson QB seasons ever. Which is nuts!

Depends what the scouts say. If he's deemed a first rounder he'll come out but if he gets lumped into the "good college QB but it probably won't translate to the NFL" category then he'll stay.

People are delusional. He'll do what all players do. He'll hire someone to evaluate him and determine where he would get drafted. If he were to get a first round grade, he'd be stupid to stay, and he will leave. If he gets a grade that he thinks he can improve with another season, he'll stay. End of story.

He’s not ready to read and react to NFL level defenses. Also, you see HS kids reclassifying to enter college early. To me that sounds like players anticipating the revenue share. Cade would definitely benefit from both an extra year and the House Settlement (if it gets approved to start in ‘25). Probably make a similar argument for Vizzina to stay the course with Clemson as a backup, because I’m not sure he’d get much attention from a P4 program worth transferring into.

I hope so as he is just now getting the confidence to do the job. I fear someone like Notre Dame will offer him millions in NIL money. We train him and others get the benefit. I don't think he is like that, however we need to get back to winning the conference and being competitive in the playoffs to keep players.

I think he stays! He needs to. His career path kinda reminds me of Bo Nix! Comes in very highly rated. Expectations thru the roof! 1st couple yrs are a bit rocky, play is up & down. All of a sudden, Jr year he takes off. It all comes together for him. Comes back Sr year to cap it all off, as Bo did. I also think our success will mirror that of Oregon when Bo played there
