They are using their middle passing game more this year. But in the last few years, it was mostly missing..

more playoff games, and more national championships in the CFP era than anyone not named Alabama.

Can you imagine if we would have thrown over the middle more? ;)

One of the reasons we won two Nattys is because the offense was spread over the entire field. Less so in the last few years.

We used Legget all over in 2016. In 2018

we had less TE receptions than last year even. Under Elliott, we consistently did not use the middle of the field, and there wasnt any fluctuation. But again, who cares when you win games?

Only 3/4 inch away from 1/1 for the upper left (20+ yards) - would have been TD. Wanted it so bad.

Let's be fair, If DJ had put a little more air under the ball it would have been a TD. Having said that no one can be perfect 100% of the time.

We won the game and in good fashion, so enjoy the win and get ready for BC.

but good defenses will eat this alive. If you show you can't go over the top and loosen up the middle (against good defense) you'll be hard pressed to score much. But its working now and DJ is getting confident and i'm good with it. Just hope at some point we develop a legit threat to go over the top on teams at least by mid to late in the season.
