Do you think he can win the ACC let alone a national title? And do you want to see him start again next year bc the kid won't get drafted he will be back. If Cade starts to feel like the job is rigged for DJ he might transfer, are you really prepared to see a guy who has real potential to win championships leave bc DJ "earned" a job by being senior?

And what is wrong with that, exactly? Only ONE team will win the national title for 2022. One. 130 teams WILL NOT win it this year. If my math is correct, that means when the season began, theoretically, each team had a .0076% chance of winning. If we break that down to just Power 5 schools, that leaves 65 teams, counting Notre Shame. That increases your odds to 1.5%. If you break it down to only P5 conference winners, that gives you a 20% chance. If you reduce to just CFP qualifiers, you have 25% chance. Heck, even if you make the National Title game, you have a 50% chance of losing. Therefore, if Clemson wins the ACC this year, but doesn’t win the National Title, I will still be more than thrilled. It’s pretty dang hard to win a D-1 national title in football. Only 42 out 131 D-1 schools even “claim” one. That means roughly 68% of D-1 football programs have NEVER won a national title. It’s a very exclusive club, and in my opinion, it is the hardest title to win in college athletics. Perhaps that’s why Clemson has won a grand total of 3 in 126+ years of playing college football? Be realistic, bud. The sun will still rise if all Clemson can do this year is win a “measly” ACC title. I, for one, can only hope our Tigers are that “unlucky.”

Just a couple of years ago our program was at a point where we virtually took it for granted that we would be in the playoff, that we would play for a championship. Now we’re truly worried about beating Wake Forest and NC State. If you can’t see EXACTLY what’s wrong with that, you need to stop responding to threads like this. Seriously.

Everyone wants to win a championship every year BUT as fans you have to understand. In college football it is almost impossible to be a contender every year. Think back who has done it besides Bama? So if you only enjoy the years we are a national championship team. You are in for alot of sadness.

4th quarter last night should be all you need to see that right now DJ is better than CK. We enter that quarter with a huge lead and promptly send in Cade to get his much needed work and experience.

Before you could say Danny Ford, La Tech had closed back to within 2 scores because CK could not move the offense. Enter DJ once again to get the offense moving and to pull away for good.

Some of you CK lovers are letting your hatred for DJ to cloud your biased eyes. As of now, DJ is our best QB.

Are you talking to me? If not, disregard the following. If so, pay attention. No, I just remember 20 years of being worse than an “also ran” and having to hear all these people cry and whine about never taking the “next step.” I remember being a fanbase that had become a national laughing stock for having unrealistic and absurd expectations year after year. I also remember when a fan of Clemson football was fortunate if the team managed to finish 7-5 and go to the Peach Bowl (back when that was the bowl reserved for 3rd place ACC or for Clemson because their “fans travel well”) and only lose by one score to the 5th best SEC team. I also remember actually forgetting what it felt like, as a Clemson fan, to actually win a bowl game. I also remember what it felt like, as a fan, not sniffing a conference title for 20 years but seeing the likes of Virginia, Wake Forest and Merryland all accomplish it. I also remember the Tigers being humiliated by the likes of those same teams. And, let’s not even get started on those colossal and dehumanizing beat downs given to Clemson by a collection of very good, but far from national title contending, football teams like Georgia, VA Tech, Missouri, Texas A&M, Syracuse, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Texas Tech, and California. Oh, and don’t ever forget about all those FSU massacres handed out on the regular.

So, if you think being happy about “just” winning the conference sounds like “Tommy Bowden,” then call me Tommy all day. Additionally, you also need to do a little historical research about Clemson football from 1992-2010. Good grief man, we aren’t even ten years removed from having perpetual sports disappointment and underachievement being defined as the hokey pejorative of “Clemsoning.” Yet, you want to call me out for being content with a conference title? Get real, bud.

O.C. is questionable, but DJ is the problem.
He throws a pretty ball. He throws an accurate ball. Problem is he can not time his ball. He can't read a defense. He does not run his progressions. He stares down his receivers. He is slow. His running ability is pitiful. He can not extend plays with his feet.

Someone please tell me what he does well.

He was dropping dimes last night. Now did he miss open receivers is hard to tell on television and he had a few bad throws.

Mymain problem with DJ at this point is he will never scare you with his legs. He is slow and thus the defense will always focus on the back in the RPO. The space he had to run last night on some of his runs would have been big gains if it was Cunningham, Trevor or Watson.

This all being said, DJ is our best chance to win and he has been solid this year.

It's not the coaching staff. Streeter can only call plays that DJ can handle. Look at the buffet of plays that lesser teams are doing and what their QBs can do, Verses what our offense has done the last two years. There are several things we don't do on offense simply just because DJ can't do it.. if you want me to elaborate I will, but I'm sure most on this board already knows what I'm talking about. The run for a first down he had tonight on his second drive that got called back for a pointless hold by RB3? That was a thing of beauty. That’s the kind of plays that sets him apart. He needs some time with the 1s. Not just for a true apples to apples with DJ but more so that he’s ready if DJ gets injured or has a game where he majorly struggles.

ACC is deeper this year, but I believe he can win the ACC. National title is pretty questionable at this point. But the 2016 team had a close game with Troy early in that season. I could also see this team turning a corner and being a real threat down the line though. We will learn in the month of October for sure.

Dj will win the acc this year for us. NC? Still to be determined. Right now we are not that caliber. And it’s not because of DJ. The fact your trying to blame it on him, because YOU think Cade is better is hysterical. Not just you though. Cade will be super good, but the problem is everyone thinks we get a DW4 or TL16 with every new freshman. Those are two rare qbs. Cade isn’t that. He has potential to be as good but not as a freshman. Y’all are trying to set him up to fail. He is getting eased into the job for next year. Dj will leave for the draft this year, someone will fall in love with his measurables, and he is a talented qb, who I’ve seen tons in progression from. He is our best qb on the roster game ready.

But the better question is when he leads us to a acc championship and another playoff birth, will you and everyone else eat your crow?

No one will draft DJ that's a ludicrous thought. The NFL doesn't care about feelings or seniority, it's all about results. DJ will be back next year in college football. Measurable are out the window when you're a qb who is inaccurate and can't make progressions.

I don't think Cade is TL or DW, I do think he opens up the playbook with his legs and will make decisions faster in particular with rpos.

You haven’t watched a game this year apparently and are a troll. Dj has went through all his progressions and is night and day more accurate from last year. He is at 65 percent even with probably the most drops in college football. Lol and a 5 td to 1 int ratio. His touch and footwork is night and day. NFL scouts want to see progression from season to season. He is 6’5 230 with a huge arm. If you don’t believe nfl drools over measurables than you really don’t watch football. Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Tannehil, heck sam Darnald, Josh Rosen. So many more. Heck they drafted Josh Allen and trey lance from an fcs school recently just off measurables lol. All those qbs were not great in college. The nfl can teach things that college can’t, Atleast that’s what they think lol

Cade brings nothing different to the offense besides being faster. Kelly Bryant was faster but I mean you really want to compare?

Georgia has not got a governor on their Ferrari this season. Todd Monken is getting the absolute most he can out of Bennet and Bennet fits that scheme well.

DJ has gotten better but he's still not far enough along. Maybe it's the coaches not doing good enough a job or over coaching him, bc when DJ drops back he looks so slow, clunky, and robotic. I don't remember him being like that his first start. So maybe I'm wrong about DJ and this is on the coaches, hard to blame the coaches though considering the QB play has been exceptional for the most part.

Good job going up and getting a few contested passes this week, but they are contested because these guys don't get separation. IMHO DJ really only looks at half the field and is just a little bit late on some of his passes. He had one pass to #10 that looked like last year where they were not on the same sheet of music. We continue to ignore the middle of the field and allow the 2 deeps to take the deep outsides.
