DJ Lagway question

So he commits somewhere tomorrow, and it appears not to us. I felt pretty good early on about him and that he was our first choice. Did we fall out of favor? He seemed high on us. Was it too soon to take another QB named DJ????

Yeah, I remember seeing people on here like a year ago saying he would be the next QB..then find out later that Clemson wasn't in it. I don't know..Maybe he wants to start day one

My guess is having two 5* guys on the roster and NIL impacted his decision.

Vizzina is a 5 star. Look at the composite rankings on 247 or on3. That’s an average of the ranking by every major recruiting outlet.

We lost ETNs brother bc ETN was on the Jaguars and his family was moving there so it made more sense for his brother to be close in Gainesville

My guess is that our version of the RPO concept with DJ running it didn't look very appealing. We used DJ like a dump truck, pounding him into the ground. A real dual threat QB wants to run but run in space. Think Caleb Williams. I think we will see a completely different example of this with Cade running the RPO offense. He will get wide of containment and not take as many big hits. DJ wasn't quick enough to get around the DE so he had to cut it inside and get drilled by a LB. Sometimes on the designed QB draws, his lack of speed and quickness allowed the LB's to sit and close fast. Let potential QB recruits watch Cade run the offense, it will look much more appealing.
And yes, having Vizzina coming in probably factored in but I think the optics of our offense under DJ was less than desirable.

DJ was the second highest rusher on the team and he can't throw. Not sure anyone but DJ controlled that.

at QB1 repeatedly for the last 2 seasons. Not sure DJ controlled that, but I who knows?

Yeah and we've had 2 long years of DJ and neither will be beneficial to recruiting, specifically QBs and more so WRs.
