Deer David Hood, Crump or Rink

I know we're closing in on a lot of football content in the coming weeks/months. But,.....
Can we get an article/update on baseball recruiting given the excitement around the hire's made and the recent string of commitments?
Things I'm curious about:
- An overview of the commits - How many players do the staff plan on taking this year? - Are any of the commits projected to compete for starting spots? - Who do we project to leave after the draft (July 17-19th)? - Lastly, (maybe) an overview of needs by position, and how the recruits fill those needs.

Thanks B-Meist®
The is no shortage of football sites that go in depth on player analysis, returning production, coaching changes, player transfers, etc, etc.
However, when it comes to baseball, it's pretty tough to find out anything about how our roster looks now, and may look next year. I'm hoping my favorite website can shed some light.

I remember being excited about Lee when he came onboard then won the ACC Championship so I thought we got a great one.
But! But! Lee did not really bring anything with him when he joined. No great commits transferred, no graduates that I recall came to Clemson to follow Lee. He didn't have a staff that he brought but hired several of JL staff. The biggest positive I recall from Lee as the new coach was his ability to retain Beer which was a win for recruiting. He never recruited or developed another first round player or had a pitcher that was lights out if he wasnt already on the team he inherited.
I feel like EB is on a different level and I am really excited how his coaching relates. EB has had players chasing him to be part of his program, from graduates, to current commits and even future commits. This tells me he is a players coach and they love him. They believe he will make them better and they follow EB vs chasing a school. I think that speaks volumes for a coach. I think Neff may have hit a great hire on his first try.
Example: Almost feels like Dabo was hired by Auburn and all his coaches, available players, new recruits and players on the fence jumped ship to follow him. This has to be a fantastic sign that EB could be a gem! I think we have CWS im our near future. EB's pitchers look to be an good upgrade.

Didn't Lee recruit Strider? How about the MIF and two pitchers in this class that will potentially be 1st RD's. How many first rd guys came out of Michigan and we all know the failed story of Maryland. Before you throw stones, put your glass winsow up. Lee had a fault he should have fired some assistance and Leggett was fired for the same reason, not firing his pitching guy. EB is a good hire, but he isn't a home run difference maker. This was a political move by Leggett and a secret meeting in Atlanta to gain momentum. I think EB will be a good coach, but I don't expect his record to be any better than Lee's because until you fix some of the things in CU around scholarships, NIL's and don't give the coaches the ability to cut kids that aren't performing you are never going to compete with the SEC

Strider was recruited by JL but committed to OSU until 2015 but said the ACC is the best so he decided to go Clemson. Just like Beer, recruited by JL but rhe decided to play for Clemson. After the JL coached players and his recruits fell away to draft, graduation, transfer portal or whatever, Lee's wons went south quickly.
I am not saying this to defend JL because I think his small ball game was costing us wins in the end. Then the players that were coached small ball, then coached long ball by Lee, we had some good success. But as Lee's long ball and stupid analytics took over his coaching, you could see we were sliding downhill. But then pitching started to be weak link and strike outs from long ball was killing us.
Who are the first round pitchers after Strider? I don't want to hear about the HS maybe's that wanted placeholders in case they fell in draft. JL has same issues. Lee's recruiting was taking the low-hanging fruit in SC. He very seldom pulled players out pf state more than 100mi away. I don't think his recruiting was on par with JL and his needed to be elevated by hiring new blood.
I think EB could be a great addition to Clemson Bball but only time tells. Looks like a great recruiter and great players coach considering the following he has had from Mich.

I agree. I’d like that too. Right after more updates on possible conference expansion. Thanks.
