Yes I know it's way early but it's interesting to look at how the CFP seeds would shake out based on current AP rankings (assuming current high rank per conference is the conf champ):

1 - Alabama, bye
2 - Ohio State, bye
3 - Miami, bye
4 - Iowa State, bye

12-Boise State @ 5-Texas
11-Michigan @ 6-Tennessee
10-Missouri @ 7-Georgia
9-Penn State @ 8-Oregon


Two top 12 teams - USC and Ole Miss - would be left out.

SEC: 5
Big Ten: 4
ACC: 1
Bit 12: 1
Mountain West: 1
