4 conferences, 16 teams. ACC, SEC, Big 10, Pac-12. Worst performing teams in each conference get replaced by the best performing teams in the G5 conferences. Completely change college football.

An idea that has been in use in the Priemer League and Bundesliga for many years. Could work, but who gets to decide which teams get relegated and which move up?

The lower tier bowl games could be used to decide relegation

That would make those games a lot more interesting.

I had a similar thought on Varsity/JV levels

It could be the BIG 64 as the varsity & the next 32 as the JV...let the "evaluation period" be about every 4 years to reduce the chaos & one year wonders. It would give those teams who got snubbed to prove themselves & weak teams would be penalized for not holding up their own. It would force marginal teams like USC, Wake Forest, Boston College & Vandy to step up their programs.
