Clemson actually ranked 12 in the AP Poll, ahead of SMU this week.

When the AP was published yesterday SMU was ranked 12th (837 votes) with Clemson at 13th (827 votes). A short time later, Zack Klein pointed out that they had used an old ballot of his and shared the proper one here:

Today the AP silently updated the ballot on their site but left the old vote totals listed. With him moving SMU down 5 spots and Clemson up 6 in his actual ballot it moves Clemson to 833 votes with SMU at 832. The updated rankings can be seen here: https://collegepolltracker.com/football/2024/week-16
