CFP meeting on expansion today

Per Sports Illustrated, the CFP management committee—the 10 FBS commissioners plus Notre Dame's Jack Swarbrick—is scheduled to further explore the expansion issue today. Before the SEC's surprise expansion, a 12-team Playoff seemed inevitable, but that doesn't seem to be the case now.
The hope for those wanting to expand is to have things settled to vote on a change next week. SI's Ross Dellenger put a pretty good flowchart on where things stand right now:

Each FBS Conference Champion automatically goes (10) and six widcards ? The Sweet 16 of College Football. Who plays who first round determined by rankings.

They better reconsider playing that many post-season games. The top junior and senior players will be opting out to protect themselves from the possibility of being injured before the NFL draft.

Yeah totally!! I can think of all those seasons I felt the #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13, #14, #15 and #16 teams should be getting first place votes and deserved to compete for a national championship!! Let’s do this!! Who cares if there’s two teams with 4 losses and 8 teams with three losses in the playoffs?

Welllll, if the point is to get exposure, and not necessarily to win a championship you have little chance of winning anyway, that's not a bad idea.
Unfortunately, if the SEC champion is waiting in the wings to see who will challenge them, the d*MN ESPN announcers will spend over half their time discussing them rather than the teams actively competing on the field.

Here's why- Each conference is getting an equal split of the $$$. The MAC is not equal to the SEC and should not automatically get a spot and the big $.

If I heard correctly the meeting next week has been canceled. Speculation is because of the alliance. They now hold the cards and not the SEC and ESPN
