then I though how his lackluster late season play helped us get into the ACCCG. So I guess he was more useful than I first thought

Seemed to me that Cam Ward played more casually late in the season than he did earlier in the year. Really stupid, high risk passes in non-desperate situation.

Also, it seemed that he abandoned his early season bold scrambles that led to long yardage. To me, it seemed that he was not willing to take the risk of potentially getting hurt on a frenetic scrambling effort, instead preferring low risk scrambles that often didn’t result in first downs. It also seemed that he over-stayed in the pocket. Was he trying to display his pocket presence to look more like a NFL QB? If that was part of it, then (IMO) he failed. He took sacks late in the year that we would not have imagined he’d take early in the season.

We’re in the ACC Championship. Therefore, I’m fine that he got the accolade instead of a game this Saturday.

Stats in his last 3 games (Miami lost 2 of these)

77-113 (68%), 975 yards (325 pg), 8.6 YPA, 7 TDs, 1 INT.

That's still pretty elite.

He did only run for 9 yards total in the 3 games though so I guess if you're trying to nitpick something it would be that.

Ultimately Miami lost two games because their defense was bad and not because of Cam Ward.
