I said it last year and I will say it again.. The ACC is dead in the water.. and even more so now. All that talk of a mighty Alliance was laughable then and now it is a total joke. But But But the Big 10 pinky swore to play fair.... please.. Anyone who believes that is gullible enough to buy ocean front property in Kansas. ACC = Dead man walking. Hope Clemson is smart enough to jump ship instead of going down with it. Loyalty means nothing if you are dead.

it hasn’t anything to do with loyalty. The school is under contract. it can make 30-50 million a year or it can leave and forfeit that money.
The ACC and teams in it aren’t going anywhere

Respectfully disagree. There is no contract anywhere that is unbreakable. Too many lawyers make good livings off of "unbreakable" contracts. To say ACC teams are permanently locked into a TV deal until 2036 is a fallacy, and time will prove this false also. Money or lack thereof has never and will never be an object to an organization willing to survive.

Secondly, does anyone on this board truly believe that the ACC will remain in the status quo until 2036? Because that is not going to happen. Mark and remember.

K’s are made to be broken and all things are negotiable in this arena. If Clemson and other teams left, that would affect the league’s K with TV partners. When there are zeros and commas involved at this magnitude, you find a path forward.

No way Clemson stays put. In the future….You can’t keep making $50M/annually while all your competitors will be making $100M+ annually. It will eventually affect everything.
The good news is outside ND…Clemson is the prettiest girl at the dance. The GOR K is really controlled by ESPN. What other conference is controlled by ESPN???? Connect the dots…
Again, Clemson will be sitting pretty.

Yes, we “had” an alliance between the ACC, Big 10 and Pac 12 where we wouldn’t poach teams and stick together. Throw money in the mix and all bets (loyalty to the alliance) were off. Ask the Pac 12 how it went for them when the Big 10 stuck a knife in their back by taking USC and UCLA.
We need to be ready to jump ship as soon as possible. UNC and FSU are both wrangling to position themselves to go somewhere other than here. Money does talk and BS walks. We need to get our walking shoes on now.
