CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson golfers Jacob Bridgeman, Zack Gordon and William Nottingham have all been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America. All three were instrumental in Clemson’s ACC Championship season of 2021.

For Nottingham it marked the third time he was named to the team, as he was also chosen in 2019 and 2020. He joins Oswald Drawdy (1988-90) and Jason Griffith (1986-88) as the only three-time selections in Clemson history. Nottingham was the recipient of a Weaver-James-Corrigan Scholarship from the ACC this past spring, his final year with the program. He had a 73.42 stroke average for his 19 rounds this year.

Bridgeman, a second-team All-American on the course, was selected for the second time in his career. This past year Bridgeman posted a 70.11 stroke average, third best in Clemson history. He was named the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year for 2021. The native of Inman, S.C. who will return to the Clemson team for his senior year, led the team in rounds in the 60s with 13.

Gordon, who will also be a senior on the Clemson team this year, was named to the All-America Scholars team for the first time. He sank the winning putt on the third playoff hole against his Florida State opponent on April 26 to give Clemson the ACC title. The native of Gaffney, S.C. finished the year with a 72.72 stroke average for his 21 rounds.

To be eligible for the team, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA. In addition, golfers must participate in at least 40 percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
