Is 8-16 without Jordan Travis. Outside of Travis and his abilities Novell hasn’t done anything.
Do you think yall can win 3-4 this year and do you think he could be gone end of this season if it is a 3-4 win season

Bret is pretty up on things related to college football. So, he probably knows these facts.

Jameis Winston was responsible for Jimbo becoming a couple hundred millionaire. FSU is that family member who should never have access to the family fortune because it’s be spent on lottery tickets and hookers

games with EJ Manuel. He turned things around pretty quickly from the mess FSU had become at the end of the Bowden tenure. I'm pretty sure Wake beat them 30-0 in 2008.
There was also a time when I thought Jimbo made some of the best HT adjustments of any coach in CFB.
I'm not sure what happened to him at the end of his FSU days, but his offenses were terrible from 2017 on.

Reading his intellectual post. He’s a straight shooter. Don’t call him out like that. Not a good look.

Not to sound mean but, I don't think the OP is personally calling out Bret.

We all enjoy Bret's posts, and you are correct, he is a straight shooter. I just think the OP was asking for Bret's thoughts or an opinion of FSU's start to the season and Norvell's overall record with the exception of Jordan Travis.

Hey Tigernet friends,,,,,we better be careful throwing dirt on the Seminoles before we play them in October. I expect the Noles to breakout on somebody and "we" could be the perfect victim the way we are running them down. Remember, in spite of their current record, they DO HAVE significant talent "on paper" especially on both lines of scrimage. "A wise warrior only talks while taking his armor off rather than while putting it on".

clemsonfan2000c® I wasn’t calling him out. I know he keeps up with football and is an intelligent poster. I was asking if the general FSU fan down there knows Norvells record isn’t good when you take out the Jordan Travis years. It was not personal towards BretFSU

FSU’s ACC record in the last 10 years is equivalent to what Clemson was doing after Ford left. We were wondering around in the wilderness for years. Last season has bought him more time but overall not impressed with him in the grand scheme.
I would have rather tried to recruit a top tier high school QB and taken my lumps like that this season instead of acquiring DJ. Hindsight is 20/20 but a freshman would have been no worse. Hate it for DJ and the mess he has made for himself in comparison to where he thought he would be at this time in his college career, but on the flip side I love to see his dad struggling with reality.

Yes, people realize just how bad his record at FSU is without Travis behind the center.
No I don't think he will be fired after this year even if he goes 0-12. The buyout is 63+ million bucks.
Norvell was a successful coach at AZ ST (OC) and at Memphis before he had ever heard of Jordan Travis. Jordan Travis was a broken guy when Norvell arrived at FSU. He was ready to either quit football or switch to WR. Norvell talked him out of it. The improvement of Travis from his sophomore to his junior year was remarkable.
In today's world of NIL and portal, I don't know hwo he will go about trying to fix it. I think he will fire several coaches (most are predicting 3, I think it will be more than that) after this season. But, the problem is players build relationships with their position coaches. Every player on the team is a free agent in December. So, Mike's problem is how does he keep his younger players on the roster if they are upset their position coach is leaving?
I'm hoping for significant progress this week. But, with every passing week I'm getting less hopeful. Last week was horrible. No way should a team with the talent of Memphis push FSU around on both lines of scrimmage.

I didn't think you were calling me out, but just asking my opinion.
Now, I would love to see Cade have an encore performance from last week

An objective look at their remaining schedule...

shows just one likely win (Charleston Southern).
The other eight remaining games (Cal, at SMU, Clemson, at Duke, at Miami, UNC, at Notre Dame, and Florida) are either toss-up games or likely losses.
At this point, I think it's fair to say that four (maybe five) wins is likely the ceiling for this FSU team.

Amazed at how some people walk into these jobs and get paid millions and then millions more in buyouts if they are fired. Most people get fired for nonperformance and get nothing.

With any luck, they will beat Cal, Duke, SMU, Fla, Charleston Southern, and UNC.
They are experiencing the "portal effect", the phenomenon of having guys who play for themselves and not the team. They will wake up and put it together, hopefully this week...they now realize that "NFL dream" depends on it!
