Couple if homes and then run by the tax office in Powdersville to pay the taxes on my house, another lot,and my boat. I get there at 12:15 and realized they were closed until 1PM so I ran over to Cabelas to grab some fleece lined jeans for Mrs. Spud for our trip to New York.
So..I run in..grab the jeans and a Cabela's employee grabs me and asks if he can help...He is bass fisherman, gun nut..erc..so we talked a good while..Somewhere in there I say that I am in real estate and he says,"Son...this Realtor has a house near me for 1.2 million and me and my buddy think he is LOCO,but that if he gets anywhere near that price wr are gonna call him and list ours immediately". I said,"Really...where do you live?"..and he says,"Montague Circle up near Furman"....I said," Well...if that home on 60 Montague Circle sells....you've already met the LOCO Realtor".......
Thank the Lord Mrs. Spud wasn't with me or she would have died laughing!
Stay humble my friends!

Great story! Oftentimes, when we get really "full of ourselves", a lot of it spills out and we realize we just stained the carpet.

Checked the Zillow listing. Nice place, but not a single horizontal picture.

Spud my wife and I are in the process tidying up some things with our house and property for our realtor to put it on the market bc we need to size down a bit and get closer to family. The smaller places that we're viewing online I think are outrageously priced.

around 2,700 sq ft home on 3 acre water front lot on Lake Greenwood? Complete with a pool ,3 just rebuilt decks across entire lakefront of house, newly replaced windows, doors, gutters, & siding in gables above the brick? I might want to downsize to a condo in Clemson.

Probably enough that you could sit comfortable for a while. Waterfront property isn't all that easy to find, and what you do find it, it will cost a small fortune, way out of my league

I have a 3 bedroom 2 full baths 1800 square Ft, inground pool with extra concrete, covered cooking/grilling area with concrete, plus 6 electrical plugins in the cooking/grilling area with overhead lights, 3 outbuildings. I have 1 acre of land totally fenced in with 6'cyclone fence around back yard, and 4' cyclone fence around front yard, with drive through gates into front and a drive through gates to the back yard, plus a walk-through gate between front and back yard.
When we finish with the things we need to do getting it ready for the market, we'll have it appraised and see what our 21 year investment has done over the years

Deduct $50,000 for the inground pool. I filled mine in last May and felt almost as good as selling a boat!

Humility comes naturally to me, as it does to all perfect people.
Great story, Spud - may the winds of commerce be with you. Oh, and the winds of travel, and of marriage, of warm clothing, etc. You get the drift. R/TLM

By mentioing the asking price, you may get a 72k or 36k commission if sold as such. In what world is that considered being humble?

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Also bragging about having a boat and extra lot, buying jeans at Cabela’s and taking a trip to New York. Tough times!!!

Wow Spud. I live in Texas now but grew up on Montague Circle. I remember when there were only a handful of houses on just half the circle, now it's almost completely built out with homes. How times change.
