Boston question...

Sep 30, 2022, 9:00 PM

Went to book a rental car for next weekend in Boston, but all the rental companies at the airport say there are no cars available for that weekend.
Just wondering if anyone had that issue also. Taking my son up there for his first time and would hate to Uber or taxi everywhere.

Try Turo. Should always have something available there***

We used Uber last time and will use them when we get there Wednesday . It was cheaper by half last time . Cabbie ripped us off I thought

Done that trip several times. We just take the subway everywhere, wouldn’t bother with a car. The train stops right at chestnut hill for the game. The ride home gets packed like sardines but still easy.

Don't waste your money on cars, taxis, or uber. The subway system in Boston is fantastic and cheap. You can go everywhere by subway. Buy a couple of 7 day passes. Hand the off to someone at your last stop and pay it forward.

Been to BC game twice, here’s some good advice…

Sep 30, 2022, 9:31 PM

1) don’t rent a car. Find hotel in Boston next to T station and ride T everywhere

2) on game day don’t take the B line to Boston College. Take the D line to Chestnut Hill and exit off to Hammond Street. On Hammond take a right on Stone Ave or Resevoir Ave and it will take you right to the stadium. It’s a little further walk but way less crowded, especially on the way back after the game. I printed off a google map and put in my pocket in case my phone died.

I always fly into providence to get to Boston. Way easier airport no problem with cars and a pleasant 1 hour or so drive.

I rarely drive in Boston… use the T

It is much better way to get around to see things in the main Boston and Cambridge area. Now you will do some walking, but it is the way to go. Parking in town is a ##### and expensive. Such a hassle. The T is so convenient.

Then if you want to take some trips to places outside of the T area, set aside a day to rent a car for that.

I lived there for 5 years and been back 3 times since to visit. That is how I do it. I rarely if ever use a car in and around downtown or Cambridge area.
