seeing multiple reports of this, any truth to this? Will he really go to UNC? Im not that worried about him, likely run off kids with his hard ### approach

Can you imagine going from a likable, affable HOF coach who will defend his players to the death and dance in the locker room at 73yr old

To perhaps the surliest, most arrogant, rigid coach that has never recruited or dealt with boosters and academic requirements who is 72?

I’d loose my mind if I were a UNC fan

It’s as if UNC intentionally does whatever they can to keep sucking in football. This has to be a joke or smokescreen of some kind.

I’ve been trying to figure out what sense this makes. Could it be that there’s no intent to hire Belichik but the talk of it is putting UNC football in the national news. Kind of makes the job appear more attractive to serious candidates if the Hall of Famer is interested. Also makes recruits notice.
But then there’s always the possibility they are serious about hiring him. Might as well continue the trend of making UNC the nursing home of old football coaches.

They are serious and he is also serious about wanting the job. Several legitimate sports journals are covering the story.

If he coached for 3 or 4 years and brought in a younger assistant coach from the NFL to mentor and recruited on his NFL cred of winning 6 super bowls, he could put together a power house team.

Winning a natty in college football may be a goal he wants to achieve. I can see UNC upgrading facilities, enlarging stadium and finally going all in on football. They would be a shoo in for the SEC OR BIG.

Can you imagine how ESPN would love having Belichick on ESPN as a clever college coach. It would certainly draw viewer interest.

If I was Bubba Cunningham, I would hire Belichick in a heartbeat. It would be the MOAB of college coaching hires.

Bellichick's father coached at UNC in the 50's. So he has ties to UNC.

No one should laugh at this. He is a stellar coach, a defensive genius who will do more with less. He doesn’t need A level talent to achieve A level results.
