Too bad the article didn't say they were waiting on Clemson.

If this report is true then one of two things will be true: 1. If ND balks at the Big 10 offer then I don't see any way they would consider joining the ACC for football in the near future. 2. If ND does jump to the Big 10 then the ACC's expansion dreams will essentially be dead as there is simply no other big name school that the ACC can go after in order to compete with the Big 10 or SEC super conferences. At this point the ACC will be relegated to a second tier conference.
I really hope Neff and the higher ups at Clemson are doing some serious work behind the scenes that look out for the best interests of Clemson and NOT the ACC. If the Big 10 is looking to expand from 14 to 18 teams (+4 from where they are today) then the SEC is probably going to follow suit with adding another 2 teams in addition to Oklahoma and Texas. Clemson needs to be one of those two teams if this all comes to fruition.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the B1G going to 20

members, especially if ND signs on.
IMO, following would be Oregon and Washington, plus one other to reach 20. Then, I believe the SEC would follow suit.

I have to believe a lot of stuff is going on behind closed doors.
1. SEC ain't waiting around to see what B1G does. They are devising what there next move will be. 2. Schools in ACC and PAC-12/10 (and other conferences) ain't waiting around to see what ND and B1G will do. They are working individually and in small groups, devising how to approach the B1G and/or SEC and present their case as becoming a member.
I have no idea what Clemson (or FSU or any other school) is doing specifically. But, I assure you, they aren't just sitting around reading social media.

We’ll go to the SEC with FSU and at least two other ACC schools.
