Best offensive gameplan of the season?

I think it was. The coaches knew that SC was no threat offensively so they made a relatively risk free gameplan with the run being the focus.

We looked better on Offense vs Wake but I think today was a better gameplan

So why wasn't this our game plan most of the season?

Great win and not being negative. We threw better against Wake but .. the gist of our offense is to run, either up the middle or to the outside. Better teams would stack the box and snuff it out. We do not have an effective/consistent passing game. If we had healthy receivers that would go up after the ball, the issue of getting the ball to them would still be a problem.

Remember that DJ had a SPLINT ON HIS INDEX FINGER for the past two games.

Believe it or not, that is a huge impediment with respect to throwing the football.

Given that the passing game was going to limited in effectiveness due to (1) splint on DJ's index finger and (2) WR corp being decimated, and (3) the O-Line was healthy + all of the younger players had the benefit of a season 'in live action in the trenches' for the majority of the season while they were learning (and making mistakes along the way), last night's game plan was logical from the 'Clemson capability' perspective.

Given also that T.Elliott's simplified game plan recognized the discipline problems with S.Carolina's defense (LBs out of position far too often), his game plan integrated the best that Clemson's O could offer and that of an exploitable weakness at S.Carolina.

In summary, the game plan fit the strength of our offense -and- the weakness of the opponent's defense.

No better than any other game plan this season; the circumstances coincided to create the terrific outcome that we all enjoyed last night.

The splint has not hurt our qb performance. He isn’t good with-or without the splint. Remember the first seven games accuracy? Didn’t have the splint and misfired rather often. If we didn’t have a great defense and two or three great rb we wouldn’t have won any games. Congrats to the team and coaches for getting us thru this

That game plan was the only one we had. Still can’t pass the ball

Thank goodness USuCk lived up to their name on defense. They’re worse that Wake on D. All we need is a QB and we’d be undefeated right now. But we’d probably be matching up with UGA again in the title game.
