Anyone find it interesting that the one coach Dabo trusted

was Lincoln Riley? He's always come across as a pretty good guy to me, but I feel like he takes some heat on here for taking the USC job and utilizing the transfer portal as much as he does.
Obviously Dabo has a ton of respect for him to call Lincoln and trust that he'd stay quiet about potential changes in coaching staff and such. That can create problems on the recruiting trail if the wrong coach starts whispers.

He was just talking about potentially making a change during their initial convo.
But maybe Dabo was scheming the whole time and seeing if Lincoln would bring up his brother's name.

I can think of no reason to doubt Dabo for any changes he makes in the team. If coach Riley wasnt THE GUY he would not be our OC now. Support Clemson ….. the leadership is top notch !

Yeah for anyone to find this ironic or surprising is grasping at straws. Who knows Garrett Riley better than his Bro. Dabo went to Lincoln bc he wasn’t going to call a coach under contract preparing for a national championship. Who else would Dabo call in this situation?

Most likely Lincoln Riley didn’t say anything because of respect for Dabo Swinney’s tremendous influence in college football.

would have been burning many bridges. No one wants a coach who can't keep his mouth shut on their program. It also may have cost Riley's younger brother the opportunity to advance his career.
Dabo may have been going solely on trust but I suspect it was volumes more than trust which made the phone practical.

judge of character, so I imagine he felt pretty confident that it would be a secure call. Very happy Dabo got who he wanted here.
