After a night to stew in everything

Had logged out of everything after game to not see anything related to Clemson, yesterday's game, or college football in general. Wouldn't have found out about the ACCCG stuff had it not been for my brother texting me.

After a night to digest it, I hate to say it - as a lifelong Clemson fan, as the 1st person in my family to attend & graduate Clemson - I can't bring myself to be excited about the ACCCG. This team & staff has shown the 2024 season isn't a championship caliber team IMO (the 3 teams we've faced w/ a pulse - UGA, UL, SC - and the results have proved that). Don't think that's gonna automatically change change against SMU - or in the case we do slip by, against whoever we face in CFP. I'm at point I'd rather our guys just get thru whatever bowl game w/ a cheesy gimmick to attract eyeballs, turn page on this year, & hope 2025 is gonna be further improvement.

Hope to be proven wrong & there's an ACC title and at least a CFP win coming, but gut feeling isn't telling me that.

An ACC championship gives a better tone for this season, which is mostly mediocre compared to our dynastic era in the 2010s. Now, add in a playoff win, and the season would become quite good. Hard to deny that. Is it Best is the Standard level, even with a playoff win? No. Not at all.

We're all just so spoiled. But I grew up in the late 80s and early 90s. I can handle the crap, even if it hurts.

Of TB, so the glory days of Ford were just the things I heard about & got to see whenever YouTube became a thing.

Yeah it's a spoiling for sure b/c gone thru the lean years growing up. Just feels like a funk over the program @ moment - things aren't all bad & could be a whole heck of a lot worse, but there's a definite feel that things aren't as good as they could be compared to just a few years ago.

the win against Pitt. That's not much of a resume.

Don't feel bad about it. It's rare for Clemson to have ZERO wins vs top-40 teams

This situation is truly ridiculous for us. We typically have a good schedule. We typically are arguing how people are UNDERRATING our strength of schedule. Now we have a rare year where we are not a good team and we are in a conference championship. The ACC is just in shambles and we had the easiest path on top of it. Not our fault... but being aware of it isn't a crime.

Perhaps someday you'll wear that Clemson sweater with pride again. Wait until we Win though. Don't won't people thinking you pull for Clemson if they ain't a winning.

I’d see it as more of an opportunity if I thought we had a chance. Instead it’s like another chance to expose what a crappy team we have. I’ll watch because I can’t look away but have zero expectation that we win against a decent team.

My hope is that something good can come out of the outcome, no matter what happens. If we win, we are ACC Champs and on to the playoffs, which was the thing I wanted to see from Day 1.

If we lose, it just adds more urgency for change and hopefully, drives action toward it.

I can still say "Go Tigers" and really mean it...
