What did you not see on Clemson sidelines during the App. State game?
Dabo with a offense play sheet...
Stop defending Dabo when he makes mistakes, he is our head coach, not OC... Just glad they said it.. Glad he let Riley be the OC....hope it continues... Go Tigers!!!

### are you talking about? ACCN Packer is a Clemson graduate and Tom Luginbill is a decent analyst, it was exactly what was said... I think you need to stop pounding sand and realize ITS THE TRUTH, Dabo left the play calling to the person he hired to do the play calling... Stop being part of the problem...

So again, when Hood reports that three different coaches all confirmed that

Riley called all the plays against UGA...what is that, in your opinion? Are those coaches lying? Or is Hood lying? Do you have a link to someone indicating that Dabo called any plays against UGA? Maybe some clips of he and Riley clashing or something where he seems to be waiving off his OC for a different call? Is there ANYTHING that supports this narrative other than a desperate attempt to explain our offensive woes of the past few years?

some of these guys are the same people who thought hiring Dabo was a mistake. As he proved them wrong they began the myth that Dabo knows nothing about X's and O's. Founded at Shakin-the-Southland.
They conveniently ignored that Dabo selected a system which suited his goals and hired both Chad and Brent, neither of which had half as much success anywhere else, neither before nor after. Dabo raised two football players, hired them to his staff, trained both to manage then promoted them to co-coordinators, won two national championships, doubled the size of our trophy case and put Clemson in the most respectable and dominate era of our history.
The failure to appreciate that He built this program from the bottom up yet still couldn't function as the best OC or DC in the nation yet still can't call plays indicates a serious lack of knowledge along with an intentional ignorance of how we got here.
Every bump in the road and they regurgitate the same nonsensical concepts. Frankly, I believe it's all something they read off STS and come to tnet claiming that nonsense came from their heads.
From their perspective, Dabo called plays in week one that Cade couldn't throw, our WRs couldn't run routes to catch the ball, our linemen missed critical blocks some of our guys failed to block downfield the Riley takes command of the playbook and that's why Cade can suddenly step up or back in the pocket, drop dimes, execute the read option to perfection and throw 24-26 perfect passes with the two incompletions being throw-a-ways due to a rarely lucky defense on the other side of the ball.
I mean Riley is an evil freakin' Warlock who cast a spell on our entire offense to confound them until Dabo let him hold the playbook during the game and call plays.
The HC having a voice in the play calling couldn't possibly happen with only him, his oc, dc and quarterback being able to hear him.
Coupled with the sure ignorance of what's going on with our coaching must be coupled with a healthy measure of stupidity to make such assumptions and ignore such history.

Well said! And spot on. Dabo build this program from the ground up. Give him the credit he deserves. Dabo is the reason Clemson is relavent again. Like his style or not, he is why we are competitive. We can all have our opinions, but facts are facts, and Dabo's success is a fact.

that App States defense was pretty inept. A couple of those long TDs were results of poor angles taken by the safety. That and being out of position in the run game. They didn't show much on D.

Anybody who has watched the "Dirt Raid" offense the past 4 seasons, immediately recognized Mike Leach's "Air Raid" offense. It was so obvious! Then Pirate would say..."Find some open green grass....throw it there. We can run later." That is exactly what happened against AppSt. Dirt Raid be ###### and cast into a lake of fire, never to be seen again, I hope.

It was the freshmen receivers not the play calling. App St. may also not be that good. I think that its a myth that Dabo hired the most expensive OC in America then refused to let him work.

Go back and watch last years games. Dabo is holding a play sheet and even said he vetoed many of Riley’s calls last year.

He's basing that of off what Dabo said after the South Carolina game. Dabo said he overuled pass plays in the 2nd half because we needed to run the ball, which the 100% correct strategy.

Are you suggesting the presence of a play sheet in Dabo's hand...

is not evidence of Dabo calling plays, or are you suggesting Dabo was calling plays and Morris was actually running Dabo’s plays/offense?

All you people out there who think Dabo is calling the plays are idiots. My brother-in-law has been in the coaching business for nearly 30 years so he knows how things work. He says no OC is going to take a job where he can’t actually coordinate the offense & if that happens he isn’t going to stay. This is a myth that Dabo is actually calling plays. Does he have say so yes. Can he veto a play yes. But every head coach does this. ####, Riley has even stated he is calling plays, but some of you just want to believe what you want to believe,

This! No OC with Garret's pedigree is going to stay if he isn't given the freedom to run the offense his own way. Of course Dabo has veto power, he's the head coach. If you ask, he probably vetoed some defensive calls as well. It's normal for the HC to do that time to time.
I think some people just want to hate and complain because that is all they know how to do.

taking the OC job at Clemson and being handcuffed by a head coach into the offense we have seen over the past year and keeping quiet about it? Or staying? You think none of the players or other coaches would have said anything?
I really enjoy Marc Packer but people should not go to him for analysis. He's good at fostering discussion about sports. He's not an analyst.
