ACC reality check

I fully understand that football drives the revenue stream in any conference but is every decision based on football? The Learfield Directors Cup ranks schools by their finishes in all sports and we did not make the Top 60 and were behind 10 ACC schools. The point, an athletic conference is about every sport at every school and decisions are made based on that. I hope we can find a way to stay in the ACC and enough key additions are added to increase the tv revenue. Maybe all of you don't care that there are over 60 schools in the nation with a better overall record than we have, but I can promise you if we want to improve it will be in the ACC, not the SEC. Look it up.

Give it up. Quit beating this dead horse that football does not drive the decisions made by the various conferences. It does and it will continue to do so.

Learfield Directors Cup until you just posted about it. No one cares.
National Titles in football matter first and foremost. Along with the dollars associated with football.
Then its Basketball/Baseball...
Then everything else.
Take the Cup and shove it up the Top 60's @$$.

sports simply live off of football revenue - so…..if you want those sports to be successful then we need to maximize football revenue. That won’t occur in the acc.

My absolute opinion is that if FB wasn't the violent sport that it was, and basically still is to a point, we wouldn't be having a single comment about all the conference changes that we're expecting, so that tells me that it is all about FB and the way that the game is played. The fan bases want them bigger, stronger, tougher, and more violent every year!!!

I would say that Clemson leadership would not be as

likely to pursue membership in the B1G due to the breadth and depth of all of our athletics programs and the impact it would have on the student athletes and their families and fans with the added time and travel. The SEC, though, would likely benefit all of those due to geography and better resourced programs overall being in the mix. So, every decision is not based on football, but no decisions are likely tied to the Learfield Directors Cup standings, at least regarding Clemson.

With the exception o basketball, the rest of the sports are leaches attached to the football program. If they want to eat, he football program must be healthy.
