I live in the midlands, so the local news stations are pro coot, and they’re proud/vocal about it. They take shots at anything Clemson related. It’s what they live for. No professionalism whatsoever, which doesn’t surprise me at the slightest.
I’m watching WLTX19 and they bring up the passing of Diondre Overton. The anchor, Andrea Mock, never referred to him as a Clemson football player, only “Clemson alum”. But what irritated me is that throughout the entire thing, she had a smile on her face and was downright giddy announcing his death. Look, I get it, you’re a coot. You hate Clemson and anyone & everything related to it. That’s fine. I don’t have a problem with that. But what I do have a problem with is you appearing overjoyed that a young man lost his life all because he was associated with the school you hate. Just downright disgusting. But a coot’s gonna coot I guess.

I live in Lexington, and I never watch the local news. They are a joke to watch... much like MSNBC. They spin everything that's not to their advantage.

There is no way a news anchor was excited about the passing of a 26 year old because of a football rivalry. Especially one that went to Kent STate.

She’s a golden flash on paper. Went there for journalism. She’s a coot. I’ve watched 19 for the last 10 years. I know who she is where her allegiance lies, and to what extent. She’s extremely vocal about being a coot. And she frequently makes snide, unprofessional comments on air about Clemson. But this was a new low from her. She’s 100% certified coot trash.

loyalties.
I understand local media support for the Gamecocks, but what I've never understood is their collective failure to realize just how many Clemson alumni live in the Midlands, not to mention the thousands upon thousands of Clemson fans here. Then, you have businesses all over these counties owned or run by Clemson people. Honestly, I rarely watch local media sports' reporting due to those reasons.

USC is the only thing keeping downtown Columbia afloat. When school is out it is like a ghost town. USC, the Legislature, and Courthouses. That is the sum total of Columbia's bustling commerce environment. That makes the news stations pretty much subsidiaries of the university.
