The best of the ACC and old Big East. Got 11 of 12 already married in. Cut the football dead weight and condense for strength. We don't need to be part of the SEC or B1G - we have what we need already for scheduling and national interest.
Clemson Florida State Georgia Tech Louisville Miami North Carolina NC State Pittsburgh SMU Syracuse Virginia Tech West Virginia (Addition)

Way too many charity cases and not enough taxpayers in that group.***

Every league has a few charity cases. They're good for business in the long run.

UNC doesn't pack the house but the brand works, and now they've got a novelty item to shake around for a bit.
There's three Alphas here plus occasional contenders. Stretches and connects from Florida to NY. This group playing each other more often is worth more than we're providing now with the dead weight so mixed in. Worth more, divided by less.

if every team is practically an NFL team, like the SEC, you just beat each other

Across all athletics, it isn't bad. But, it is a big yawn when it comes to football and no improvement over what we have now...

More attractive games more often among more committed programs, divided by a third fewer hands = improvement IMO. Less is more.

Miami, Florida, Florida State , Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn, Duke, North Carolina, and NCST.
This would make for easy travel, create new very hated rivalries, and sick competition in the three main men's sports.
14 Teams: Ole Miss & Miss State
16 Teams: Tennessee & VaTech

Yeah but there's SEC teams in there and we're not merging that I know of.

11 of those teams are under contract to remain in the ACC for the next 10 years.

That number could disband the league altogether, then reform as they like together.

Notre Dame and Penn State and you have the best conference in America, in every sport. I don't know how to make it happen, but I do know that this would solve a lot of issues that pundits currently see.
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'! Go Tigers!

You're not wrong. At minimum this 12 would maintain the 5-game ND deal.

Penn State has always preferred east coast rivals and play over what the B1G gives them but dem dollar$ is hefty.

Okay. So, compare this to what the ACC's manager is trying to gin up now.

This is much more attractive and puts our best interests, and control of the sport's continuing evolution, more in our hands and not someone else's.
If we had to collectively abandon the ACC moniker to bring this to fruition - Big Atlantic it is. Were the remaining ACC programs desiring to stay connected in football and other sports, we could create a 2nd division for them plus other top G5 programs in the region for football and other sports with separate rights agreements. Think UConn, Memphis, Tulane and such to soak up the eastern's best.
