2022 Recruiting

Jun 15, 2021, 4:38 PM

How is 2022 Recruiting going?
Has the Tiger bubble burst? (No)

UGA is ranked 4th today with 10 top recruits in the fold including potentially great QB Gunner Stockton.
OHS, LSU, and ND are the top 3.
History is most great players go to Blue Blood schools.

Now that players can make $$, those schools with more $$ and who have boosters with more $$ will get the best kids. A small market like the town of Clemson that don't even have strip clubs or casinos is what it is. That was pretty much the case before, but now will be even more so.

In time players like NIKE will step in and make things even worse.

My Tigers are ranked #32 today.
Everyone who is even slightly worried raise your hand.

Recruiting rankings in June are meaningless. Alabama is ranked 12 right not, but there's no way they're going to finish there. We are currently ranked 3rd in the 2022 class for average quality of player, which is just behind OSU and Bama. The reason we're 32nd is becuase we have far fewer kids commited than other schools, and that's about to change in the next few weeks. We'll be in the top 10 soon.

As for your first point, it's hard to predict what will happen. But I trust Dabo will do what he needs to to keep us competitive with the other big time schools.

Clemson and Alabama will load up when the time comes. Though only 5 commitments, our Tigers always rank highly in star averaging.
Our small number of commits is obviously the reason for the poor ranking as of now. Numbers carry a lot of weight this early in recruitment.
Once we get up around 10 to 12 commitments,
I'd think we'll be top 10 with still time and room to move up.
It does concern me that we're a year behind some of our competition with the NIL deal.

Our nil goes into effect 7-22. All the recruiting for 21 is done. So what advantage do they have with the 22 recruit cycle that we don't have.

If you build it, they will come.
