because, younger generations never grew up "tinkering" with their cars. All the computerization these days, along with disposable "remove and replace" parts, make cars where you pretty much have to take them to a professional mechanic to have them repaired. Meaning, kids these days don't form attachments to their cars like us oldtimers do.

Now, if there was a cell phone or video game racing league out there, LOOK OUT!

I remember going up from SC to the 61st Indy 500 in 1977 when AJ Foyt became the 1st person to win it for the 4th time. That was my first major road trip without family and a great time. What spectacle to see by country boy.
