Ziploc bags

Jun 7, 2022, 2:53 PM

Hi guise just wondering, does anyone have real-world experience with Ziploc bags? I keep reading that they seal to keep food fresh but you cannot trust what you read and I want to know if they really seal. Currently when my wife and I travel to British Columbia we buy an extensive set of Tupperware to keep our food fresh and we just leave it in the middle of the parking lot at the airport when we leave. The Tupperware lady out there says we are her best customer but I was thinking I could buy ziploc bags and pack them and take them everywhere instead of buying Tupperware but again, DO THEY REALLY SEAL OR IS IT CLEVER TV GIMMICKRY?

Also, TIA for any advice but I have already bought an entire gross of Ziploc bags so any suggestions will be purely for conversational purposes so hit me anyway.

Also does Clemson still have Ziploc bags? I was talking to a UConn grad who said in 1964 they didn't have Ziploc bags so I was wondering if Clemson does.

parody post and your source material was as good as any.

I probably need to un-ignore FBC so I can pick up some better stuff to go after.

The truly woke, PC way of storing your food is to

build an igloo (not the cooler that's for chumps), be sure to make a small fire at the access door to deter scavengers.

Or alternatively, in non-arctic climates, you should store your food in clay pots buried 4'-6' in the ground to take advantage of the more stable temps below grade.

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to say "igloo"

Jun 7, 2022, 3:04 PM

That's like saying "TeePee".

Ziplock bags are so 1960. $300 bucks will get you the entire Vacpack-It Food Storage System and a free roll of high tensile plastic for maximum freshness.
