Zero Chance Brownell Survives this Season

Bad losses to good teams. Bad losses to bad teams. Losing big leads. New AD. No post-season play.
Only thing that could save him is an ACC Tournament Championship

Can someone explain why we put up with losing basketball? We never did that with football. Do what it takes to field a competitive team. What we are doing now isn't it.

Brownell's job, among other things, is to...

build, or rebuild, the Clemson basketball program and, at the end of the day, the improvements simply haven't materialized.
I've said it before and I will say it again, there is absolutely no justifiable reason why Clemson shouldn't expect to have a consistent top twenty-five program that reaches the NCAA Tournament at least seven out of every ten years. After twelve years, it's abundantly clear that isn't going to happen under Brownell's leadership.
If we're content with .500 basketball and only making the tournament a couple of times every ten or twelve years, then Brad is definitely our guy. Otherwise, it's long past time for a change.

His buyout never significantly changes and is perpetually less than the next years salary. This is a non-factor.

If you have been watching the past 11 years, this year is par for the course.
Nothing has changed.

You may be right, but it’s not because Brownell deserves to continue drawing multimillion dollar yearly paychecks. It’s because Clemson DGAF about basketball. And it makes me sad

Hmm .. you’re “wishing, hoping and dreaming” .. but a change is needed for a different end result. More of the same = well, more of the same.

The bigger question to me is who are you going to get? It will be some hot shot up and comer who will split at the first "big" opportunity, some retread that has had mixed results, or somebody who is not worth a #### to start with. It is easy to sit here and say we should fire somebody, but you had better have someone to replace him. With all of that said, at some point you may have to make a change just to create some excitement about basketball, because the apathy has not been this bad since Shyatt.

Brad isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
We could hire another head coach and make Brad the assistant who reports to him and he would either help the other coach or quit and save us some money or swallow his pride and help the coach get better.
If we got to pay him anyway, he might make a better assistant and help us with recruiting & teaching.
He might be like Roy Williams a great assistant.
Somebody call Neff now so we can make the tournament.
It’s just a different thought, I’m sure somewhere in the contract it says he can’t be demoted so Brad is going to be with us until 2024 or 2025.
Maybe we could get a group of Tigernet coaches together & go recruiting really good players for him ourselves.
One of us needs to have a company with a lot of money for the NIL college contracts.
Have the advertiser pay ?? them after each game they play & if the don’t play them the ads stop. Texas A&M may have already come up with this.

I think there's a good chance he's gone after this year.

Even though the powers that be have been mysteriously reluctant to make an obviously much needed change in the past, I don't think they can ignore the damage being done to the program if the current situation is allowed to continue. However, it hasn't made one lick of sense thus far, so ...
