To be honest I think there's a 60% chance they get him. In state player and we just took two 5* and 4* for DE last cycle. Not every player likes to come into a loaded depth chart like ours. So if he's that kind of kid then he'll go to USuCk and start day one. Then he'll be the best they have. But we know one DE does not a great DL make. I mean look how many studs we have on DL. Albert Huggins would be starting almost anywhere in the country right now. I also don't get the feeling we are going after him supper hard.
The player that will baffle me if they land is Crouch. He's mentioned USC more than once. If they land him it will be the first time in a long time they actually went head to head and beat us for a player we really wanted. Now they will say different. Jamyest Williams for example. But I really believe if we don't land Crouch then he'll go somewhere else. It wont be to the coots. Ha but FSU would suck too. I just feel Dabo knows how to close and he'll be one of those big announcements like Trevor and Ross was last cycle.

True we do lose our entire starting lineup plus Huggy and Register. Pickens would still be third string IMHO. We have XT, KJ, X-Kelly, Mascoll, and Foster. So that gives us a solid two deep with a 5th. Not to mention whoever else we bring in the 2019 class. SC is still selling him start day 1. We'll see how it shakes out. I trust our staff.

don't think it's set in stone that Pickens is a DE. Sure we still have a lot of guys in front of him, but it's more like 4 DTs and ~7 DEs after all of these guys leave after 2018. Several of those DEs are pretty small too. Pickens would offer something a little different, and i think he would at least challenge for some playing time his freshman year.

I think like XT he and/or his family few up jr fans. Just a guess but the longer he holds off on a commitment the better for us. I’m sure he’s considering a favorite school versus the smartest football move for him. The longer it goes the better our chances.
Crouch I just don’t see there. We were on him early as a LB and not a RB like most. He recently said he prefers LB at college level. With BV on it I like our chances.

the ONLY attractive thing about USCjr.Unless you just really love zoos. Columbia is 1 hour from Charlotte. Its the only reason i think Clowney went there.And when you live in SC its never more than an hour and a half away. So they can pitch proximity to the homefront. Now Pickkens, who knows. i'm guessing its that theres no logjam at carolina. Its red carpet up there. They just want anyone with a pulse.

My family has recently moved to the Anderson area and my brother plays with Pickens at Hanna. From what I’ve heard, Pickens’ family are big time SCar fans. However, it is a very similar situation to XT last year. The only difference is XT was hoping to have a chance to start this year until Cle and Bryant decided to stay. Yes, those guys are leaving, but does a top ranked DE really want to walk into a situation where he’s already behind XT and KJH? Dabo and Venables will stay on Pickens hard so let’s hope we seal the deal
