1913 it was...on about the 8th or 9th...and we had to toss extra logs onto the old fireplaces at Clemson to warm up.

I might be the ultimate braggart here today in the opposite extreme . Sorry to poke fun, but "no snow in central Vermont "( at the moment!). It won't be often that I can say that. Once we even get into October anything can happen .It could change quickly as evidenced by the pictures taken a few years ago. This storm is apparently going to get pushed out to sea east of us . Don't worry , we will see it soon enough! The pics are of the typical winter scene taken a few years ago ..yes, when it was "4th and 16" , this was were I was ! :)

I love Snow, so Florida wouldn't work for me as a Permanent

place to live. I would like to afford to spend part of the Winter in South Florida though

I lived in Ft Lauderdale in late 70's

Nov 1, 2014, 7:48 AM

And there was plenty snow...but if I could afford it Key West would be my retirement home

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea the SE has definitely warmed up since 60s, 70s, 80s

Nov 1, 2014, 7:53 AM

and early 90s on average. We don't see nearly as much ice and snow as back then. The Florida keys would be a great place to retire

Actually I did see snow falling in Miami in the 80's. Of course it didn't stick but dang it got cold. Hardly anyone had heat in homes just a/c. The biggest drawback to me was I missed the change of seasons. Kind of makes your head spin when Santa is wearing a thin red suit sweating his #### off
