YouTube TV's fight with Disney may leave subscribers without

Dec 14, 2021, 7:33 AM

all of the ESPN channels, abc and more for bowl season... I got an email last night from YouTube TV telling me that I may lose all the Disney channels on 17 December if they are unable to reach a renewal agreement with Disney. I'm guessing things will eventually be worked out but have been thinking about switching to FuboTV for a while - any of you have experience with FuboTV?

Story regarding the pissin' contest between YouTube TV and Disney:

Wow. I was unaware of this. How discouraging.

Got the same email...

Luckily, I've got ESPN+, so I can get by for a while. I'd hate to have to go back to Spectrum, you pay out the rear for 1,000 channels but only 20 or so are worth watching.

I may have to do just that - at least through Bowl Season.

That email is just to ignite the Twitter mob

They had an issue earlier this year with this, and we realized we were not getting one of the football games. So that day we canceled YOUTUBETV and switched to HULU TV and its been fine since, caught every game, watched the soccer natty. priced about the same.

The YouTube vs Roku dispute got resolved a week ago

with a multi-year agreement. Don't know which side came out on top but the YouTube TV app is back on Roku now...

I've been looking at FuboTV for a while. They have all the channels that I watch for about the same price. This YouTube TV dispute may be the final push I've needed to give FuboTV a try and since it comes with a 2 week free trial I can watch the bowl games on it (assuming Disney and YouTube are still in negotiations) and see how it goes.

Knew the deadline was the 17th

glad to hear, as I use Roku

Yea, I noticed pretty quick how they left out ESPN ....

from their letter but figured it was included since its all of Disney. Hopefully they'll get it resolved. If not, I'll just find an alternative for a couple of weeks until they settle on a price.

When people complained, I’d say “what did you expect “?
