Brad, You are pathetic, football has played for four national championships in the past seven years, they are number one followed by men’s soccer, softball is number three. Then golf, and sadly basketball now ranks ahead of baseball. That’s how sad our baseball team is.
I am not saying that you can not follow it, but it is not basic.
First, it is the only team sport with 22 players on the field, and they all have to do their job. Second, It requires more referees and uses a much larger field than any other sport, that is a lot of space to officiate. Also, there is a lot more strategy involved than just chucking a predictable, round ball into a basket, it takes a methodical and orchestrated effort to get your team in range to score, in basketball one guy can just showboat the ball down court and score, this is not possible in football. Football requires more variety in players, where basketball players all pretty much have the same skill set and responsibilities. You are not going to see an offense lineman throw a pass, his job is already far too complicated for that. You also will not see a punter catch a TD pass very often, again, his role is different than every one else on the field. It requires many more coaches in football than basketball, again, because of some many varieties of players. You do not see a guards coach, or a forwards coach in basketball, more just guys that write stuff on clipboards. Football Coaches literally have to all communicate on a closed headset in real time and get 11 guys lined up, a play called, and the ball snapped in 35 seconds, you do knot see this kind of pressure in basketball on the coaching staffs, they are too busy jotting down stats.
I could go on, but I am getting bored typing this.
You guys are either joking, or you are idiots. I’m not sure right now which. Football blows every other college sport out of the water and it’s not even a close competition for second. Please tell me you’re joking.
