Too Predictable?

Oct 2, 2016, 9:44 PM

Thought the offense made great strides (particularly the O-line) last night in getting back to champion form. Only concern is we were way too predictable on our first play of an offensive series. I think with the exception of the 2 minute drill at the end of the half, we started every series with a handoff to Wayne Gallman or a designed Deshaun Watson run with Gallman as lead blocker. Sure hope the coaching staff shakes this up a bit as it has become an all to common pattern.

"I've played multiple sports and would bet any amount that I'm still more athletic than you at this present time...."

Yep, that

touchdown run by Gallman up the middle on 1st and 10 definitely sucked. How about we lead the nation on home winning streak and consecutive regular season wins. So obviously we are consistently doing something wrong

you're right but all the oumpers on here are going to call u out

As a Debbie Downer.
Funny, I thought "best is the standard".
Being predictable and getting our D gassed is not best

In fairness, we did have some sporadic success with it - Gallman was beasting it the best he could and generally got at least a couple of positive yards. Maybe that was the point - just get something positive on the first play of an offensive drive to help establish a tempo. It was just interesting that the pattern became very noticeable to myself and those around me by the end of the 3rd quarter and we were all calling the run play before it happened...

Too conservative. We do it every time we're up

Maybe they thought Louisville wasn't too good at predicting Bc they

Oct 2, 2016, 9:59 PM

Predicted they'd win but I checked the papers this morning and it said we win.

We do have the 3rd Quarter blues. Don't do squat in the 3rd quarter on offense. I think that is what wears our defense out.

I agree with this actually. Our offense kept/keeps defense

Oct 2, 2016, 10:52 PM

on the field too long. When defense makes a huge stop, nothing destroys momentum/momentum like going out and turning over the ball or 3 and out and coming right back on the field. Maybe they do, but I'm not sure the offense understands at times how vital it is that they do their part to give the defense rest and a cushion like the defense understands its their job to keep the offense in the game and give them the ball back. That being said, interception in the end zone is Watson throwing just behind MW. A few other things here or there are player mistakes, drops, bad bounces of the ball in Ray Ray's case. I don't like people attacking the OCs. They are the coaches and are responsible. But they've lost ONE game since they took over. I needn't remind everyone that it was a close game in the NC against what is essentially the modern era football dynasty. Not a bad resume right there. Our players aren't perfect, they make mistakes. I think we saw what's inside of them last night and at least a spark of what they are capable of. I think it's rolling now. Vs. Ga Tech we got basically one outstanding quarter. Last night we got two. I look for them to build on momentum from here. Eventually we will lose a game again and the melt downs on here during games in which we end up winning are ridiculous. Just like anyone, I hope that game isn't this year. Go Tigers! Let's be 1-0 this next week!

Predictable? Like Gallman for 10+

Oct 3, 2016, 9:17 AM

Yards on first down, predictable? If so, let's keep being predictable.
