I believe Putin, POTUS and Xi are playing us. I think our government has been playing us for at least three decades. Creating a dangerous enemy like Russia is portrayed provides Americans with someone to hate, perhaps fear. Neither Vlad nor Xi are dangerous in the sense of conquering the world with an army. Only Xi is a danger to our economic superpower.

Our gov officials are in bed with China and use Putin as a distraction. I assume no side here but that of an American who trust no man with power.

They are by far the 2nd and 3rd most powerful militaries on earth and both nuclear powers, in russias case the only rival to the us with nukes. I agree with what you said about creating villains, we decided for sure to keep Russia a villain after the Cold War when whisperings of extending nato all the way to include Russia were shut down.

We also had agreed to extend no further east after they agreed the unified Germany would be part of nato. Clinton adding Poland and Obama adding the Baltic nations were both major strategic errors. The strategy should have been courting Russia to triangulate with China. Instead we have unified them. See their joint statement earlier in February.

Russia is also cozy with Brazil, that’s a big deal. They also had an advanced fighter program with India, India withdrew, and now with turkey an already fragile nato member. Does that deal get cancelled? Does Germany stop buying oil and gas from Russia as part of the sanctions?

After they invade I want you to research if Germany and Europe really stop buying their gas. “Oh we will cancel nord stream 2” ok great what about existing gas and oil supply? Western soft and pathetic hypocrites. It makes it really hard…..

I hope you’re not considering us as the #1 military in the world. That’s definitely China. We might not be top 10 at this point. We shouldn’t be fighting anyone after Afghanistan.
