Say something that the OC is getting more attention than HC

in the job market. Dabo's name did not come up once for any of the SEC jobs despite going to the Orange Bowl last year and going 10-2 this year. Not saying Chad Morris would get those type of offers at this point, but I find it interesting he is a candidate for coaching positions, but no SEC, Big 12, or Big Ten school were as excited as Dabo. Heck, at Louisville, you had Charlie Strong's name tied to 3 SEC jobs. What does that say about what the ADs think of Dabo?

It says Dabo is not looking and is at a school that is willing to pay to keep its coaches.

Not many Head Coaches happy where they are will get a lot of interest from other schools.
Of the jobs open this year, which one was better than what Dabo has at Clemson?
Arkansas rebounding from a surprise firing of their HC and a bad season.
Tennessee still on probation from Kiffin.
NC State? BC? Cal?
It's just a terrible argument on your end.

trumpeted him as a top tier coach that belongs in the SEC. I would argue that Tennessee and Auburn are better programs than Clemson despite their bad seasons. More resources, tradition, and fan bases.

Dabo has said numerous times that he is not looking to coach somewhere else. So why would you waste an interview with someone happy and content with where he is. He would only leave for the AL job and that one is not coming up anytime soon nor would he be considered for that job.

Perhaps because Clemson is a "destination" job?
Dec 11, 2012, 5:22 PM
|
|
The only coaches to leave Clemson for "better" jobs were John Heisman and Charley Pell. This is a place people want to come to, not leave.
The notion that a coach isn't good because he has been lured from Clemson is arguing a false premise.
