In my throw back years, my high school was too poor to even have TB helmets. I did make it thru CU, but I’d be a lot smarter today, with a little more head collision protection! In the pix he’s not in pads. I assume this is to protect, even in light day practices. I like it!

Yeah, my high school was so poor we used bark taped together for helmets.

Our football field was on a hill, no grass just dirt.

We couldn't afford grass.

Well, no kiddn’ My high school football was at a brand new school with new, developing facilities. Our first exercise everyday was to stand abreast, arms extended and walk from one sideline to the other picking up rocks and throwing them off the field into the adjacent woods. Could see the rocks fine, cause no grass, just hard clay. If I’d been smart, I’d have quit!
