no way we keep him and Kelly both. Watson started as a freshman in H.S. The kid hasn't sat the bench in his life. Whoever wins the starting job, the other will be gone.

if he cant beat out Driskel I'm not sure how much he can help someone else. Driskel is terrible.

It's possible that people will be saying that about Kelly/Watson at some point.
Both Driskel and Brissett were highly regarded recruits just like Chad Kelly and Deshaun Watson.
It remains to be seen whether Kelly or Watson are the "real thing" once they take over the starting position and have to win games.

That's the way it is at Quarterback. They all know only #1 plays. Different from any position in football. May the best man win-Whoever comes out on top will lead us.

years will force him to transfer, but it doesn't really matter. We'll have several outstanding quarterbacks from which to choose regardless. The cream will rise to the top.

Most D1 QBs haven't sat the bench. Most D1 players haven't sat the bench either. Not in HS, Middle school, JV, pee-wee. Nowhere.

Every high profile QB started 4 years in high school. That is the difference in HS and a college program. Every player on our team was a big shot in High School, but those who can't adapt to being #2 won't ever make it to the #1 spot. Boyd had his reservations about being a back up, but I think he has changed his opinion now.
