So what is the truth about getting Ukraine more aircraft?

Fox is reporting:
"Under the proposal, the Ukrainians would receive Russian-made MiGs that Poland inherited after the Cold War ended.
But the U.S. has not signed off on the deal yet over concerns it would be seen as an escalation, a source told Fox News.
While U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., claimed in a video posted to social media after the call that the U.S. was blocking NATO countries from sending planes, a U.S. official told Fox News that’s not true.
"If Poland wants to send its warplanes to Ukraine, it can. The U.S. is not blocking them from doing so," the official told Fox News."
I hate reporting like this - uses the all too common unnamed "source" and "U.S. official" which could be any of a million Federal Government employees that may not even be involved or have real knowledge of the subject at hand. Notice that one unnamed "source" says the U.S. won't sign off on the deal and the other unnamed "U.S. official" says we aren't blocking it. So what's the darned truth?
Sounds like a typical Washington DC two step where the real people in charge are sitting on their keisters instead of taking action to make sure something actually gets done. Getting these Polish MiGs to Ukraine should be among the top priorities right now and I certainly hope the Biden folks aren't so stupid as to oppose or slow it down.

There is no evidence of the US supplying weapons to

Ukraine. That's the official media BS line. When you see "there is no evidence" its a red flag. The other one is when the media has a story where they have deemed "this is what you need to know" about whatever.
I just don't trust any of it. Russian or US media.

Covert means just that. We don't need to know what is going on or telegraph every move. Over the years we've done a lot of things that are best left alone.
Plausible deniability is a good thing, although it is a bit difficult when it comes to jets.

Broader point is we may have provided jets, or we may not

have provided jets. Either way, why even bother making a story one way or the other. This is why the media is dead to me.

I'll give you the other side you did not hear, and that is that Graham and the Biden Admin want them to have the planes, but only if Poland is reimbursed with F-16s. I mean if there is going to be a war, we have to make some money here, but it is "Poland's decision", not ours.

So go ahead and give the F-16's to Poland...

We've been producing F-16's since 1974 and are in the process mothballing them as part of our modernization to the F-35's anyway.

this much open press about it amongst Congressional members and others.
The Ukrainian pilots need some airtime to train on the upfits and munitions and they need time to establish which airbases they'll be able to utilize as far as maintenance, fueling, and rearming... There's certainly no need to let the Russians know the timetable.
This morning I watched a former Major General who was over the European theater for the US stating it would be a "game changer" not so much in dogfights but more in their ability to strike artillery batteries, supply columns, and possibly the ships in the south. He also mentioned the possibility of striking close airbases in Belarus and Russia...
I think we see them later this week, but who knows...

The delay is in supplying US planes to Poland to replace the MiGs. Poland won’t transfer the MiGs until that detail is nailed down. The TASS/Fox viewpoint might be different.
