I don't know if we've ever done this, but wouldn't it be a Fun Friday activity to map out for all to see where we fall on the political spectrum? There are a number of political tests out there, but this one has remained one of my favorites. It's imperfect, but I've found to be relatively accurate. Post your results, and I'll map the results at the end.

for example: "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."
"It" isn't an entity that should serve anyone. voluntary exchange should serve the two parties involved in the exchange, that's it. And that's entirely up to them. The collection of billions of voluntary exchanges that are collectively called "economic globalism" shouldn't serve any purpose and really it can't, it's just a macro level measurement of a concept.

You have to give it some leeway. For example, I interpreted that question to read, "Should globalism's aim be to serve humanity, or generate profit?"
Answer it on that read. Or, if you want to get nuanced and believe humanity is served through generating profit, then mark it as "disagree" or "strongly disagree"

having to design a test that works most efficiently, is there is not a way on social questions to differentiate between personal convictions and what you believe the role of the government to be. For example, the one question about sex outside of marriage. Personally, yes, not good, but I wouldn't haven government to do anything about it. So, it puts me closer to the x-axis than I likely am in terms of how you would think about social issues politically.

What I got...apparently I'm strongly libertarian and slightly liberal. Not sure I agree there because I had some important stipulations about my answers, but just repeating the test:
Heavily Libertarian (-4.51)
Ever-so-slightly liberal (-1.13)...I disagree a bit here since most political tests usually put me at about the same score the fiscally conservative direction (slightly more conservative than liberal), but hey, this test thinks otherwise.
They all think I'm a raging Libertarian. Which I am. I mean, I'm really hoping Justin Amash wins the Libertarian ticket so I've got somebody to vote for this time.

It's also fascinating how many of these folks don't realize how much they're violating their own personal beliefs by following populist demagogues.
My sense is that democracy is sort of like air. People assume they're always going to have it until they don't have it to breathe...and only then realize it's a commodity unto itself that must be preserved and taken into account.
Democracy and freedom do not exist without a certain fundamental liberalism - in this sense, simply meaning "tolerance" - and that simply does not exist in the same space as tribalism.
