It may be a good idea to give him a game or two off to get his mind right. He seems to be in a bit of a slump lately (minus a few minutes ago when he hit it well but the OF just made a great catch). Just because he’s a former #### Howser dinner, and- when healthy and on his game- easily one of the best players in the country- it does not mean he should be off limits to being benched if need me just like every other player. Really hoping that Monte doesn’t show him favoritism by not benching him IF he keeps struggling. That being said, on another note: I love the kid and think the world of him. But his steady decline in numbers shows that he may not quite be as ready for the MLB level as he or we may think he is. He still pulls far too many balls, and doesn’t seem to have shown the consistent ability to hit balls to all directions for average. However, I think that he’ll rectify the situation and get more consistent for the next few weeks. He’s due to break out in a big way. With that much raw talent and ability, you can only keep it contained for so long!
