GA fans pronounce it Butts - May-er. Would be curious to know who it is named after and how Mr. or Mrs. Mehre pronounces their name when it is used alone. Where are those aggravating dog fans when we need one?

wasn't there some scandal involving butts back in the 60's or 70's,and he had to resign.could be wrong,but something involving giving or selling game info to opponents rings a vague bell.

Slow day at work so I googled it. Named for 2 former GA coaches - Wally Butts and wait for it - Harry Mehre. Looks like they could have named it the Harry Butts complex…
