Trump folks: What will you do...

Aug 25, 2016, 7:54 AM

If Trump softens his stance on immigration as he has hinted at doing the past couple of days? Wasn't this one of his biggest draws for you?

Never thought it would be as extreme has he made it sound. There are limits to what he can and will do. The point is that there is a much needed focus on illegal immigration, and he's the best candidate available.

I don't think he'll lose many people.

Aug 25, 2016, 8:10 AM

The main, constant, argument I see is that he is not Hillary Clinton. So unless he suddenly morphs into Hillary Clinton, I don't think he'll lose many supporters.

It appears he finally realizes the only way to defeat Hillary Clinton is to persuade people in the middle to vote for him. Maybe too little, too late at this point.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His supporters never cared about his policies anyway

Aug 25, 2016, 12:34 PM

It's kind of amazing to watch him vacillate on nearly every issue while his supporters just shrug it off. Just further illustrates that his support is about an attitude and a style more than it is about anything else.

This is just so nutty:

Aug 25, 2016, 12:39 PM

1. Lots of people aren't Hillary. Literally everyone but Hillary isn't.

2. How did he stick it to the donor class? By insulting everyone who isn't Trump, which just so happens to include the "donor class"? Kind of ironic, considering Trump is, himself, a donor.

Never an issue. I knew from the get-go that deporting

Aug 25, 2016, 9:56 AM

11,000,000 illegals would not be done.

What is important?

1. Border security - he will do that, Hillary will not.

2. Truth in government - he will do that, Hillary.... for God's sake.

3. Constitutional Supreme Court Justices - he will do that, Hillary will not.

4. Rebuild the economy - he will do that, Hillary will not... same old tax & spend.

5. Revitalize our military and crush ISIS - he will do that, Hillary will not

If he accomplishes those things, it will be more than has been done since Reagan.

Another thing.

I see in Trump the willingness to learn and adapt.

The latest is his position on deportation.

This willingness, I think, was what made him successful in business, and it can make him successful as a President.

Hillary, however, is bought and paid for.

She is corrupt, and always will be.

The Presidency will just enable her to go to another level of corruption.

Sorry, meant to address some other points

Aug 25, 2016, 5:32 PM [ in reply to Re: You found a humane way to deport 11 million people yet?*** ]

not sure e-verify is doing that much now, there are still plenty of people working SC without documentation and we've had mandatory e-verify for all employers since 2008. Criminal immigrants are already being processed if they have serious crimes, which is the reason Trump is suddenly saying he's okay with what Obama has been doing.

But the humanitarian crisis is partly in the separation of families. Kids who are citizens of the US but not the country their parents came from. Kids who were brought here very young and speak only english being sent back to countries they have no memory of because they got here at 2. Undocmented women who are abused by their undocumented spouses who have US citizen children.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-fordprefect.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not only that...

Aug 25, 2016, 5:34 PM

But past cases of mass deportation have resulted in many incidents of "deport now, ask questions later," and the wrong people are sent away. That would happen to legal residents, but they would likely get swept away in the fervor.

Give local municipalities the ability to spot check construction sites, farms, and restaurants etc for employer documentation, and put some teeth in the punishment in the form of ridiculous fines. Give the cities and counties a peace of that action. Incentivize them to do the work the feds won't, or can't.
