The actual history of Clemson baseball....

Most of you DA's who have the blind nerve to call of Jack's firing would have done the same stupid thing if the internet was around in the mid 1980's when Bill Wilhelm was our coach. Look at the actual total records. Also understand the ACC is MUCH more difficult to win now than it ever was more than 10 years ago.
The central failure of those who complain so much about Jack is this... you think that you have healthy, high standards and that those who defend Jack are happy with mediocrity and should want more for Clemson. The TRUTH is that you are delusional in your expectations and owe your perspective more to the immediate satisfaction demanded by much of our society than to rational deduction. Your "high" expectations are worthless and would hurt Clemson if they were actually applied to real decisions.
All you message board AD's are exactly where you belong in Clemson athletics. On a message board.

Bill built this program. Jack took over a freaking machine of a program and now has it sputtering. You cannot even compare Bill to Jack.
All of you message board DA's (in your own words) need to learn the difference.
The SEC is much different in football these days. I guess Alabama should back down and go by the way side. That is how stupid your "the ACC is different" argument sounds.

The ACC is different is but 1 of a dozen arguments as to

why Jack Leggett is a great coach for Clemson then and now.
And unless Jack has a time machine... how can he go back and build the program? What on Earth does that have to do with anything?
Comparison was for the "DA's" who would have undoubtedly complained about the great Bill Wilhelm, not to say one is better than the other.

teams are even better today, means its mathematically less likely to win by a large margin. Only winning twice his entire tenure is not as good as I would like, but all schools treat the conference tournament as a prep for the big dance anyway.
Very often national champions are not conference champions.

I think palmettoson must've been cut by leggett as a student walkon who tried out. Never seen such bitterness.
Palmettoson, besides fsu and gtech in the 90's and 2000's pre Miami in ACC, who was worth a #### in the ACC in baseball other than Clemson, fsu, and gtech? Unlike the ACC since about 2003 when things have progressed in the conference. Yes, Clemson should have remained atop during this time I agree but baseball is the most difficult of all sports to show up everyday and be dominate.

in SC and the ACC have become dominant. Clemson baseball is going the way of Clemson soccer. This admin under Barker does not put a high priority on athletic success. Anyone that thinks otherwise is blind, in denial, or a fool.

Consistent 3rd in Atlantic is where we belong. Your expectations are just too high.

I don't follow baseball much, but I think it is fairly clear that the program has regressed over the past few years.

How is 4 trips to Omaha and only one missed Tournament in Jack's last 13 years "killing" the program compared to 1 Omaha trip and 5 straight years of missing the Tournament in Bill's last 13 years?

Immediate satisfaction involves?
20 out of 28 1 out of the last 9 20 out of the last 23 Losing to PC in back to back years, UAB, Maine, WCU routinely, Winthrop, Eastern Michigan, getting the brakes beat off us by UCONN, Charlotte, getting swept by Elon, Furman, UNC Wilmington......
You don't want me to keep going.
I'd say that took a little time to accomplish.
