About offsides on onside kick

Dec 6, 2015, 7:56 AM

According to Rule 6 (FR-63) Section 1 B; 3 "At least FOUR Team A players must be on each side of the kicker." The call should of been ILLEGAL FORMATION. So hush crying UNC fans. Go TIGERS!!!!!!!

There is a video on ESPN clearly showing 4 players to the right of the kicker. No player was within 1 yard of the scrimmage when ball was kicked. Just a bad call. Take off your orange glasses

4 players must be on either side of the kicker

Dec 6, 2015, 8:23 AM

player goes in motion to other side, that's 3. Should of been illegal formation

LOL -- ah brother. When you hit play on the TV and see the 4

guys up top (one is hiding behind the other), you're going to feel silly.

If you need additional assistance, count the total number of players on the field. I promise you they had 11 on that kickoff....not just the 10 you can see in that photo.

You appear to be incorrect

The picture and the rule are clear. Which "kicker" are you speaking of...the normal kicker or the one who actually kicked the ball? There are three players to the right of the ball. The refereeing was VERY biased TOWARDS UNC last night. If you want to talk about bad calls, there were ELEVEN penalties called against Clemson vs six? Against UNC (no offensive holding, several missed blocks in the back on punts), and most of the them against Clemson didn't really happen.

They lineup offsides..... the rule talks about the 9 yard mark.

Agree on formation.... Then Thrown in the BIG missed call on the head to head hit on Deshawn Watson...the bad late hit call on Shaq Lawson
And all the holding of him not called and it's ridiculous to even discuss the onside kick mess....
GO TIGERS!!!!!

One guy started on the right and moved left

Dec 6, 2015, 8:19 AM

I want to see an actual shot from the 30...the ref who called him offsides was less than ten yards from the play on the line. I think he's probably not offsides, but think it's much closed than people are saying.

Only 10 men on the field in that pic for UNC.... wheres the 11th man?

There are 4 that side. You can't see one of them in that shot. Look at the shadows of the guy on the far side.

It was a missed call. It's magnified because it's at the end of the game. Something for media, Gamecocks, and fans of teams that will be left out to talk about but doesn't change anything about our season. Go Tigers!

You're missing the point.

Where they lined up is illegal.

The feet crossing over the line of scrimmage. It can be the upper body crossing into the neutral zone or across the line of scrimmage.
