Would be a bad idea to take it to the rim against two 7 footers when it appears that the officials had swallowed the whistle. The previous attempt to inbound the ball Hall was mugged and no call came. Both he and Munson agreed that we were gonna have to hit a jump shot to win the game; clearly we didn’t. But hey they’re not on Tigernet so how much could they really know about anything?

I’m not one of the 9 people on the planet who has Bally sports so I had to listen to the radio call, and all I can go by is what the two guys courtside, who’ve seen hundreds of Clemson games, had to say about it. Tim said specifically, after the hall mugging, that he didn’t think the refs would blow their whistles for the rest of the night. They also specifically referred to the two 7 footers that were in the game for the final play as a reason to scheme a jump shot over a drive. It’s kinda like the super bowl; if you’ve got a 4th and one to extend the game the smart money is on a QB sneak or a dive unless the other team has Aaron Donald blowin up the interior of the line. BTW they made these comments BEFORE the play so it wasn’t the Clemson announcers attempting to spin the play call after it failed. The bottom line is that it wasn’t a moronic play call, and there was plenty of justification for taking a jump shot over a drive as evidenced by two learned analysts making that argument prior to the play. But hey if you know more than Tim and Don let’s get you a whistle and clipboard post haste we could use your expertise.
