Monte’s teams are always the same. High strikeouts and swinging for the fences at every at bat. This approach beats Indiana but won’t beat good teams.
Unless he learns that baseball is not about hitting 40 home runs at year… but batting .210 in the process, we won’t go to supers or the World Series.
Baseball is simple and has never changed… get them on, move them over and get them in. Pitch good and play great defense.

outside of Hawkins 4ks I think they look pretty good. 6 runs on 9 hits 1 HR.

Hawkins has looked terrible and has never been great. No idea why he’s in the 3 hole. That was a terrible at bat from Brewer, your lead off guy vs a struggling pitcher with the bases loaded. This team is young so hopefully give them a year or two and they can make some noise

Optimistic after seeing this first game. Not many sluggers on this lineup which could be a good thing.
