Some of you older T-netters may remember but back when I was

a child (late 60's- 70's) I remember people would wear red poppies on their lapel for Memorial Day. I remember them being sold in my local town square by either the American Legion or maybe it was a another veteran organization (not sure as I was very young). You don't see it as much anymore. I believe they still wear them in the UK on their Remembrance Day. Does anyone else remember this?

A drunk will run a STOP sign, but a stoner will wait for it to turn green.

Yes I remember. It was a great tradition (VFW maybe?) that seems to have waned in recent years. I know Great Britain still keeps this tradition alive.

I remember those. My grandmother always got them for the family.

They still do this in Canada on Remembrance Day, which is their Memorial Day.
